Matcha-Man Tea Company

Some History

With a passion for all green teas since living in Japan for the first time in the early 90's, I noticed that everyone I introduced real Japanese green tea to in the states was impressed with the taste and the elevated feeling you get, with many converting to drinking green tea everyday instead of coffee .  Many years later in 2015, an opportunity presented itself and I opened a Green Tea / Matcha bar, and onigiri shop in Boulder, Co that was much welcomed in a town saturated with coffee shops. Rave reviews followed in the limited time the shop was open. I sold the store only seven months after opening because family health issues in Japan needed immediate attention. Now living in Japan again I am able to bring you, from the source, fine organic teas.

With 20 plus years of experience in selecting fine Japanese teas, I am delighted to bring you a selection of the best organic teas available anywhere.  Living in Japan has given me this opportunity, to source directly from the farmers,  the highest quality organic teas at the best prices.

Shipping cost, transit time, and communication being the biggest deterrence from buying directly from overseas is no longer an issue as we only use EMS (express mail shipping) from Japan and our Matcha-Man Sets all have free shipping included and are highly recommended as we maximise  how much tea can fit into the EMS mailer.

Although organic matcha is our specialty, we will showcase other types of Japanese teas with a focus on "Tencha" the base ingredient to make matcha. We will also offer Sencha, Gyokuro and Roasted teas, when we find them to be of high quality and produced using the most natural ways possible. All green teas sold on this site will be suitable for consuming the whole leaf (ground), if desired, getting all the benefits the tea leaf contains.

All of the teas we sell have either USDA, EU and/or JAS  certificates for organic. We understand the importance not only of your health, but also the health of the soil and the flora and fauna that live in harmony with the tea and our planet.
